Basic Blackjack rules and overview

The basic rules of blackjack, both offline and online are very simple. Blackjack is played with a standard deck of cards, dealer vs. players. The goal of the game is to beat the dealer by Accumulating cards up to a total value of as close to 21 as possible without going over. If the player's total hand value is higher than dealer's or the dealer passed 21 ("bust"), The player wins his original bet. If the dealer has a higher total value than he will win. In case there is a tie, a "push" is declared and the players received his original bet back.
All face cards are worth 10, number cards are worth their value and an ace can be worth either 1 or 11.(whichever is preferable).

Blackjack is defined as a combination of an ace and a 10 value card on your first two cards.( 10 or face card). If a player gets a Blackjack they will win 1.5 times there original bet, the only situation in which they will not win is when the dealer has also got a blackjack, in which case there will be a "push".

Blackjack Rules of play

At usual blackjack table can seat between 5 to 8 players on one side and a dealer on the other. (usually we find 6-7 players) Standard variation of blackjack uses between 6-8 decks of cards shuffled together, there are of course different variations in both online and offline blackjack.
The following steps appear in a usual offline / online blackjack hand :

1) The player places the bet in his designated circle.

2) All players are dealt 2 cards face up.(the dealing order is from the dealers left to right)

3) Dealer is dealt 2 cards, one face up and one face down.

4) Players choose one of the following options according to order :

·Stay - Not to take another card.
·Hit - To take another card.
·Double - Double your original bet and receive only one more card.
·Split - If a player is holding two similar value cards they may split the hand into two hands. In which case they will have to make a bet similar to their original one the second hand. (doubling their bet)

5) Players that "bust" ( pass 21) while hitting automatically lose.

6) Dealer reveals his face down card and hits until he reaches 17 or more.

Other rules of blackjack play

There are several more options to play out a hand, they are offered depending on the house rules. We will try to review to most common options. Please go through our blackjack variations page for more info.

·Double Down - Doubling you initial bet after seeing you 2 face up cards and the dealers face down cards. After doubling you can only receive one more card. Doubling on strong hands raised your payout percentage.

·Split - If your initial 2 cards are of the same value you are allowed to separate them into two hands. You will have to place another bet of the same value as the initial one for the second hand. Some casino allow re splitting up to 3 bets. The option of doubling after a split is also varies, some casinos do not allow it. Splitting also raises payouts.

·Insurance - In case the dealers showing card is an ace insurance is offered. Insurance is a side bet of half the value of the original bet that pays out at a 1:2 rate. If the dealers face down card is of a 10 value the player wins the side bet, otherwise it is lost and the hand continues.

·Surrender - Some casinos allow you to forfeit the hand and lose only half your original bet. "Early surrender" is when you are allowed to surrender before the dealer checks for Blackjack. "Late surrender", in this case surrender is not allowed if the dealer has checked and has a blackjack. In General surrender raises player payout percentage.

·Even money - Some casinos will refund all your original bet when you received a natural blackjack and the dealers showing card is in ace.
