Rules of 7 Card Stud Poker

7 Card stud poker is a very different variation of poker than the Holdem games described before.
In the past this game was much more common but is still played by many players all over the world.

We shall review the process of a 7 Card Stud poker round :

1) Ante
In most games every player at the table has to post an ante decided by the players.

2) Third street
When all ante has been posted every player is dealt two cards face down (hole cards) and one face up.
The player with the lowest open card is obligated to post a bet. All other players can than fold, call or raise. (The amount of the bet is usually half the limit – if it is in fact a limit game)

3) Forth street
At this point another card is dealt face up to each player. In all rounds starting from the fourth street the player with the best exposed poker hand (exposed consists of the open cards) will start the betting round.

4) Fifth street
At this point another card is dealt face up to each player. Again the player with the best exposed hand starts the betting round.

5) Sixth street
At this point another card is dealt face up to each player.Again the player with the best exposed hand starts the betting round.

6) Seventh street
A final hole card is dealt face down to every remaining player and another round of betting takes place.
Than comes the showdown in which each players best hand consist of his best 5 card poker hand.
Keep in mind that in a game that consists of 8 players there wont be enough cards at this stage, therefore a single card is deal face up in the middle of the table and is considered a community card.
